Dill is a widespread herbaceous plant that is rarely found as a wild plant, more often as a garden plant. People have been eating it for a long time. This is a wonderful spicy seasoning in dry form or a fragrant, delicious addition in fresh form.
Naturally, dill was originally a food additive and seasoning, but it has a number of medicinal properties that our ancestors noticed. Most of us have dachas, vegetable gardens, where we certainly set aside at least a little space for dill. Not everyone likes it, plants it and eats it, but there are very few such people.
Today we will talk about dill, its types and properties. Botanists distinguish two types – this is fragrant, familiar to all of us dill (it grows in our homesteads, which we add during conservation, etc.) and pharmaceutical fennel, as experts call it. Both of these species are extremely similar in appearance, and they can be distinguished only by their taste and aromatic properties.
The appearance of dill is probably known to each of us. This herbaceous plant, which reaches a height of one and a half meters, has an umbrella-shaped flower with seeds when mature.
Dill is used not only in cooking, but also in medicine, cosmetology and even perfumery. Why is it so useful? Firstly, it contains essential oils, monoterpenes, vitamins C, B1 and B2, folic acid, iron, phosphorus and much more. At the same time, it is very fragrant and pleasant to the taste.
The benefits contained in dill endow it with various properties, such as anti-inflammatory, relieving cramps, vasodilating, regulating the excretory, digestive system (especially in children) and secretory.
For medical purposes, dill seeds are used, which are more saturated with essential oils. And infusion from the stems and leaves of the plant treats cardiovascular diseases, in particular, hypertension and angina pectoris. To prepare the medicine, you will need 100 grams of dill and a glass of cold water. All this is boiled for 15 minutes, cooled, filtered, brought to a volume of 200 ml of boiled water. This amount of tincture should be drunk during the day.
Dill is often used in pediatrics. Infants are prescribed dill water for abdominal pain and colic associated with increased gas formation.
These are not all the qualities of dill, and although it cannot become a complete alternative to medicines, it can still come in some moments (especially for young mothers). Explore Kwiff bet and find your next favourite game.
